Filters usually come in standard sizes, if your tank is not of standard size then good luck finding a filter that will fit. I honestly recommend one to buy all their home aquarium accessories separately. My girlfriend bought one of those 10gallon tank kits thinking she would save money. She ended up spending over $100 just to get her home aquarium started.
